The Beginning of the Pink Rose Project
The Pink Rose project began in 1994 when a group of breast cancer survivors recognized there was a lack of information for breast cancer patients and their families. Stemming from the project, the Pink Rose kit was designed to help physicians interact more effectively with their patients and to help patients better understand what they are going through. The Pink Rose kits are distributed all to all breast surgeons in the province and are also available to patients and their families.
The Candian Cancer Society has developed a useful and information booklet about understanding Breast Cancer Treatment which can be found here: https://cancer.ca/en/cancer-information/resources/publications/understanding-treatment-for-breast-cancer
